Open signals
0Nothing open. Silence is the usual and correct answer here: published prices move once or twice a year, so most weeks the only honest output is that nothing changed.
Financial position
Balance sheet only, by lawTurnover
Not filed (s.444 Companies Act 2006)
Companies this size deliver no profit and loss account to Companies House, so no turnover figure exists on the public register. This is a statutory exemption, not a gap in our data.
Why no data source can supply this
A company of this size delivers a balance sheet and nothing else. This is not Unknown and it is certainly not zero, and no better parser or paid data source would find it, because the figure was never delivered in the first place. The April 2028 filing changes do not fix it either: publishing the profit and loss account stays optional at this size.
What is filed
No balance sheet figures are on file yet
Why, and what would fill it
Blocking it: The Companies House collectors read the register, not the accounts document. Those figures sit inside an iXBRL attachment that nothing parses yet. The filing dates below are live and do come off the register.
Would fill it: The balance sheet lines from their filed accounts: debtors, cash at bank, total current assets, creditors due within one year, net assets and the average number of employees, written as one observation per period keyed financials:<made up to>.
Read a balance sheet here with care
These yards are commonly one company in a small group: the land, the staff and the trade sit in a related company and the filing entity holds comparatively little. An operator trading soundly since the 1990s can therefore show net liabilities and an average of zero employees. Negative net assets do not mean a business is failing. A long established operator can show net liabilities because the land, the staff and the trade sit in a related company, and because a director loan counts as a liability.
Vault publishes no health score, rating or grade for a named competitor. A score built from balance sheet items would be an unreviewed commercial assertion about a real business, drawn from figures that do not measure trading.
Filing punctuality
No register profile has been read
Why, and what would fill it
Blocking it: No Companies House number is confirmed on this record, so every register check skips with NO_COMPANY_NUMBER. Vault never resolves a name to a number, because names do not resolve.
Would fill it: The Companies House profile check: status, incorporation date, the accounts made-up-to date, the next due date and the published overdue flag.
Corporate register
No company is attached to this competitor
Why, and what would fill it
Blocking it: Vault never resolves a name to a number. Entity resolution cannot be automated here: the name Loc It Up alone resolves to a dissolved company and to an unrelated Hampshire one.
Would fill it: An eight character Companies House number, typed in by a person who has opened the company on the register and satisfied themselves it is this business. That unlocks the profile, filings, charges, officers and PSC checks in one go.
Commercial terms
0The things that actually decide whether a customer picks them over us. A term that is not published still gets a row, because "they do not publish a deposit" is itself information a customer notices.
No published rate has been read
Why, and what would fill it
Blocking it: Either the pages checked publish no price, or the price check has not run yet. The source coverage table below says which.
Would fill it: Their published price list: the rate for each size, the period it covers, and the VAT basis printed with it.
Terms as published
Deposit
Not published
A deposit can outweigh a small rate gap over a short stay, and a price table never shows it.
Minimum term
Not published
A shorter minimum than ours is a product difference, not a price difference.
Notice period
Not published
Insurance
Not published
Cover is roughly a tenth of industry turnover. A rival cheaper on rent who charges for cover can be dearer overall.
Insurance compulsory
Not parsed
Access hours
Not published
Whether cover is compulsory sits in their written terms, which Vault does not parse, so that row says not parsed rather than guessing from the presence of a premium. Where a term shows a range, different sizes on their page published different values. Access hours come off their Google business profile when that check is set up; CCTV is table stakes across the industry, so hours are the real differentiator.
Ancillary lines
No ancillary lines have been read
Why, and what would fill it
Blocking it: Either they publish no such lines, or the storefront checks have not run. Materials and merchandise are about a twenty-fifth of industry turnover, so this is worth having.
Would fill it: The one-off items alongside storage: containers for sale, packing materials, padlocks and van hire. A Shopify storefront publishes the lot in a structured feed, free.
Availability
No availability statement has been read
Why, and what would fill it
Blocking it: The pages checked never stated availability. Most operators publish none: of 43 local hosts tested only 3 expose any availability at all, and the nearest rival gates every unit type behind an enquiry form.
Would fill it: Sold-out badges on their own page, counted: how many sizes were shown as unavailable out of how many sizes were on the page.
Counts, never a percentage. Nobody in this market publishes occupancy, so there is no occupancy figure on this page and no modelled one either. Read these as the competitor's own marketing copy rather than as a stock system: a yard can badge a size sold out to create urgency, or leave a badge up long after a unit frees up. A row here is a state that persisted, which is why it carries a confirmation count rather than a single date. Where a size they have sold out is one we have vacant, that is a raise-the-price signal, and the waitlist depth on our side is the stronger half of it.
Growth signals
What runs ahead of a competitor actually opening something. Planning is the one with a real head start: the median Swansea decision takes 55 days, and a build takes months after that.
Planning applications attributed to them
No application is attributed to this competitor
Why, and what would fill it
Blocking it: The planning ring is swept for the whole catchment rather than per competitor, because an application for a site nobody has heard of is the point of it. Applications only appear here once somebody attributes one to this record. Nothing is inferred from a name matching an applicant.
Would fill it: A planning application on the catchment ring that a person has tied to this operator: the reference, the authority, the address, the description and the status as published.
New pages on their site
108 URLs nowBaseline captured 8 Aug 2026: 108 URLs, confirmed 3 times, last on 8 Aug 2026. There is nothing to compare it with yet, so no page is new. The first capture is never reported as a change.
News
Not checked, on purpose. Google News returns zero items for every local operator tested, so a news panel here would show a permanent nothing found that reads like a broken feed. The chains do generate real coverage and get the panel instead.

Companies House identity
No number confirmed, so every register check skips with NO_COMPANY_NUMBER. Add it below once you have opened the company on the register and satisfied yourself it is this business.
Turnover will not appear even once a number is confirmed: companies this size file under s.444 with no profit and loss account, so the cell reads "Not filed (s.444)".
Tracking
Switching tracking off also switches off every check above, so nothing is fetched. Nothing is deleted.

Deliberately not checked, and why
- A Stora or Storeganise storefront is never crawled. Those platforms are Vault's direct commercial rival and they host several tracked competitors and Loc It Up itself. Their Companies House checks still run, because that is an official government API rather than their server.
- Companies House waits on a human confirmed number. A wrong number would attribute another company's filings, charges and directors to this competitor, and a name does not resolve to a company.
- Review text, ratings and review counts are never stored. The Maps terms name that as prohibited scraping. The place ID is the only field that may be kept, and at a dozen reviews a year review velocity says nothing anyway.
- Raw HTML is never diffed. Two fetches of the same page seconds apart differ because the session token rotates, so a page diff is a false alarm every single week. Sets of URLs and structured parses are compared instead.
- Social posts are not collected. The platforms these yards actually post their offers on are closed to us, and a listening tool for six businesses that generate almost no mentions is not worth its price.
- No health score is computed for a named business. Every figure here is either printed on a page we read or filed on a public register, and an inference drawn from figures Vault itself flags as unverified is a commercial assertion about a real company.

Sitemapobserved108 URLs in the sitemap. Only the URL set is compared between weeks: lastmod values are unreliable and raw HTML rotates on every request.
captured 8 Aug 2026 · confirmed 3 times, last on 8 Aug 2026 · lockspot.co.uk
A row is the life of one value, not one fetch: a check that finds the same figure again bumps the confirmation count instead of writing a new line, so a repeated value never looks like news.
What can and cannot be known about a local yard
A local yard files no turnover: it is Not filed (s.444 Companies Act 2006) and no amount of checking will produce one. What it does leave behind is a full register entry, a published price list with terms attached, and a planning trail.
Knowable
- Published asking prices, and the deposit, minimum term, notice and insurance printed beside them.
- The register in full: officers, ownership, secured charges with the lender named, filing punctuality and insolvency history.
- Planning applications, which run months ahead of anything opening.
- Whatever their own page says about availability, in their words.
Not knowable, and why
- Turnover: Not filed (s.444 Companies Act 2006). The filing carries a balance sheet and no profit and loss account.
- Occupancy: nobody in this market publishes it. The sold-out count below is a count of their own badges, never a percentage.
- News: Google News returns zero items for every local operator tested, so there is no news panel here.
- Social posts: the platforms that these yards actually post promotions on are closed to us.
Edit this competitor
Changing the website or confirming a company number sets up the checks that become possible. Nothing is ever removed automatically: a check that stops applying records its own skip reason, which stays visible above.
